Hello Mr. McLean:

I had my divorce and division of assets finalized between 1993 and 1995. I received a small lump-sum spousal support in lieu of monthly payments. However, since 1998, I have been off work on long-term disability and continue to be on leave. I get monthly insurance payments in addition to CPP disability pension. I am only 51. I recently was searching an article in The Vancouver Sun on highest paid public servants and found my ex-husband to be earning over 86K per year. Needless to say, I was shocked. We were married in the early years of his education/apprenticeship and had continued to work to support ourselves during this time. (We were married 12 years) He never "let" me quit work so that I could go to school to achieve a degree. I don't have the income to afford a lawyer but I know you are one of the best. This self-induced stress is increasing my illness. Would you be able to tell me whether or not I would have a chance going back to Court and getting more support?
